Me eight.

Depending on the timing.  I'm fairly close to just buying all the parts - keep trying to find that miracle place where you can buy it all in one purchase with no back orders...

Dogmatic attachment to the supposed merits of a particular structure hinders the search for an appropriate structure.

I'm sure eventually there will be 100 people who need it but by then they will have either built one themselves or stop checking in here for one. This is a tough one. Here's a thought.

We have 20 people who want one now. 100 cables will be offered at $40 each by Elantric. That's $4000 in total Elantric needs now to fund the manufacturing & make a little profit (I suppose) for his trouble.

If we each pay $200 now we will get the cables asap. I know its a ridiculous sum to pay for a cable but hey, if thats what I need to maximize my $5K+ investment (DF + VG + GK3 etc etc) then its a reasonable sum. This makes us investors in a way.

The rest, 80 cables then get sold at lets say $50. That generates $4000. After each cable is sold $50 gets sent to 1 of the original "investors". So us 20 could be put in a roster say according to our initial payment timing etc. This way everytime there is a new sale one of us cut the cost by 1/4. Eventually when all 100 are sold we all end up getting the cables for free which is a nice perk.

We can set up a transparent scheme getting this whole enterprise off the ground and no, my middle name is not Madoff thank you!  ;D So who is in it???

Disclaimer ... I did not have a chance to run this by Elantric so it all depends on his acceptance of the idea.

MCK!!! I always knew you were brilliant, but this is pure genius!!! My $200 is in immediately, and I frankly don't care about seeing another penny. It's not a ridiculous sum; what price can one put on creativity? There's a lot to be said for being firstest with the mostest, and we *are* called Future Guitar NOW, aren't we? SO...?!!! ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for your support & confidence. You are flattering me. All I can think of is how we can get this thing off the ground. If you want genius look towards Elantric and all the other pros on the forum. I'm just the humble sidekick.

fubb, you can link rip to computer using 'hex' mode without the cable and see all 8 signals in the mixer and any audio app you use.

DF Manual ver 4.0 page 15
Quote
If Dark Fire connects to the RIP computer interface:
 Green: Piezo pickup output blend is on, Piezo EQ is off (“Live” mode).
 Blue: Piezo pickup output blend is on and Piezo EQ is on (“Live” mode).
 Light blue (cyan): Hex outputs are enabled (“Recording” mode). You must enable Hex
Output Mode for RIP to see the hexaphonic string inputs.
