FGN Guitars (Fujigen)
« on: December 16, 2010, 11:37:30 AM »
Ok anyone got one of these Japanese guitars ?
http://www.fgnguitars.com/
I've been searching for something to toss my newly acquired GK-3 onto & stumbled on these.

FGN Guitars  ;D

Not available in the USA as yet. Only in Europe, Asia , Australia....Haven't located one as yet !

Fujigen been making guitars since 1960 (My birth year)

This mob made the world 1st guitar synthesizer in 1978 the GR-500 in a joint venture with Roland.

1981 introduced the 1st CNC (Computer Numerical Control) router for manufacturing guitars,

2009 Established FGN brand for overseas market.

Pretty sure have done, Ibanez & some Fender stuff, not sure about Gibson !

The series 'Neo Classic' & 'J Standard' is very Fender like.
The Gibson looking ones, look a bit PRS crossed with Gibson.
The series 'Masterfield' Acoustics look ok.

Circle Fretting System... :o...interesting.

Can't find any prices on these as yet ! MCK might know something on this, being in Japan !

So any FGN mods or members got one of these FGN guitars ?
Who's gunna be the 1st ?

Gotta love the name....FGN  ;)

Cheers all.

Great find. Fujigen is a well known name around the world but their new branding of FGN is totally news for me. I will keep an eye for these in the market. Having said all that, before you know it they may sue us and ask that we stop using the acronym FGN... For what its worth, we were there first! We are FGN!

Since I cannot post on the FGN is back thread I would like to thank MCK for all his hard work keeping FGN up and running. Of course particular thanks for sorting out the latest curve ball he has been thrown.

Your hard work and diligence are much appreciated.

Hey Johnnyurq, thanks much for your compliments. I should not be praised really. For a while I was taking things too easy and ignoring the fact that its an ugly world out there and bam! we got taken advantage of. Was a big awakening call. Complicating the matter was that I decided to move from a web host that was not cooperative and supportive of the security needs to a new one that appears to have a better name. Anyways we're there now yet there is still some more to stabilize & cleanup. I apologize for killing certain features for the time being until I can get things under control. All the best.

I hear you there because I also try to see thing positively and forget that bad dudes are out there too (then get bit in the ass), but I reckon you are being too hard on yourself it is a tough job keeping a website running and free from harm in this day and age.

You are still a star in my book.

Thats very kind of you MCK.
Great excuse, to look at & test run one of these  ;) they do look interesting thou.

Hey everyone, each one comes personally signed by the original FGN manager director.....MCK  ;D ;D ;D

Back to original post.....
Where I said looking for something to toss GK-3 onto.
Have decided on a Fender blacktop series Strat, played one today, really nice.
Very impressed with the neck !

Was going to buy today, Very busy at work  :o  might leave till after xmas, unless the GAS really kicks in.
Still undecided on colour, black or cherry red, leaning to cherry red.
For that price $650 bargain, especially the way the Aussie $$$ are in parity with USA $$$

Wow the GK-3 looks smaller than I thought it was !

I'm still laughing, that there is actually a guitar called FGN  :D

You can also go the route I went. Buy a used & cheap MIM Fender Strat with Roland GK-3 preinstalled and then you can slap on any Fender neck that you like best.

This one for example looks like a great deal!

Yep your right, but want something new & with warranty 1st thou

As I haven't done a build job as yet,
I did think about that, using the other GK kit & install that into something.
But that can be my next step / job.

Having this I'm all setup, as I wanted, DF into VG or Stat GK-3 into VG & plain LP standard.

I've been watching & reading all you guys building things etc I'm still leaning !
Many thanks to FGN because this year,
I've bought VG-99 , FC-300 , GK-3 & another guitar. ;D & the year isn't over yet !
